Today’s AWS outage was a hard reminder of our dependence on centralized cloud services. Across the internet, people found themselves locked out of their own data, unable to access files or use essential apps—all because a single provider experienced downtime.
At Encamera, we’ve built something different.
Unlike virtually every other photo and video app, Encamera doesn’t require the cloud by default. Your media stays on your device, encrypted and accessible whenever you need it—no internet connection required. Even our iCloud sync feature works offline as long as you have a local copy on your phone.
We believe you should control your data. You should decide where it’s stored, who can access it, and when it’s available. You shouldn’t be forced to upload everything to a corporate server, wondering where it goes or who might see it.
That’s why we built Encamera with a simple philosophy: one encrypted copy, stored where you choose, accessible only with your encryption key. No mandatory cloud uploads. No surrendering control.
Your memories, stored with your security, on your terms. Always. This isn’t just our current approach, it’s our product philosophy, and we thank our users for trusting us with it.
