Encamera ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Encamera app (the "App"). Our core principle is simple: your photos and personal data belong to you, and we design our App to keep it that way.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Photos and Videos: All media you capture or import into Encamera is encrypted and stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your photos or videos.
PIN/Passcode: If you set up PIN protection, this is stored locally on your device in encrypted form. We never receive or store your PIN.1.1 Personal Data
Information Automatically Collected
Anonymous User ID: We generate a random, anonymous identifier for your device to enable basic analytics and subscription management. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally.
Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous usage data through Piwik (self-hosted analytics) to understand how the App is used and to improve functionality. This includes:
App features accessed
Basic crash reports
General usage patterns
Subscription Information: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:
Anonymous user ID
Purchase history
Subscription status
Information We Do NOT Collect
Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
Your photos or videos
Location data
Contacts or other personal data
Browsing history or activity outside the App
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect solely to:

No Account Required
Encamera does not require you to create an account or provide an email address. You can use the App completely anonymously.
Data Storage
Local Storage: By default, all your encrypted photos and videos are stored locally on your device. We have no access to this data.
iCloud Storage (Premium Feature): If you choose to enable iCloud storage, your encrypted photos are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is associated with your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except for the following limited service providers:
Piwik Analytics
We use Piwik, a privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics platform, to collect anonymous usage statistics. No personally identifiable information is collected or shared.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes:
Anonymous user ID
Purchase transactions
Subscription status

Apple
When you use iCloud storage (Premium feature), your encrypted data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Security
We take data security seriously:
All photos and videos are encrypted using industry-standard encryption (AES-256)
Encryption keys are stored securely on your device using Apple's Keychain
Face ID and PIN protection add additional layers of security
We never transmit your photos or videos to our servers
Open Source Transparency
Encamera's code is open source and available for public review. This transparency allows security researchers and privacy advocates to verify our privacy-first approach.
Children's Privacy
Encamera does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age.
Your Rights and Choices
Access: All your data is stored on your device or your personal iCloud. You have complete access to it.
Deletion: You can delete any photo, video, or album at any time. You can also delete the entire App and all its data from your device.
Opt-Out of Analytics: While we collect minimal anonymous data, you can contact us if you wish to opt out of analytics collection.
Subscription Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
No Tracking, No Ads
Encamera contains no advertisements and no third-party tracking beyond the anonymous analytics described above. We respect your privacy and will never monetize your personal data.
Data Retention
Photos and Videos: Retained until you delete them
Anonymous Analytics: Retained for up to 24 months for statistical analysis
Subscription Data: Retained as required by law and Apple's policies
International Users
Encamera is available worldwide. Your data is stored on your device or your personal iCloud account, which may be located in any country where Apple provides iCloud services.
